{"id":779,"date":"2012-12-26T12:50:07","date_gmt":"2012-12-26T04:50:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.theshedstudios.com.au\/wp01\/?page_id=779"},"modified":"2014-01-16T11:19:22","modified_gmt":"2014-01-16T03:19:22","slug":"all-you-can-eat-packages-why-we-dont-do-them","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/www.theshedstudios.com.au\/wp01\/photography-videography\/pricing-options\/weddings\/all-you-can-eat-packages-why-we-dont-do-them\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;All you can eat&#8217; packages &#8211; Why we don&#8217;t do them."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"Main Weddings Page\" href=\"http:\/\/www.theshedstudios.com.au\/wp01\/weddings\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Back to the Main Weddings Page<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Some photographers offer a so called &#8216;<strong>all you can eat<\/strong>&#8216; package &#8211; <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">implying that and often even stating that you get get as many or all of the images from the day(S) \/ event(S<\/span>). <strong>Sadly this is often misleading and often worthless or of no &#8216;real&#8217; added value<\/strong> than working with professionals who offer you a &#8216;package&#8217; value of images. So here are some things to consider:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #339966;\">There is a <strong>difference in the quality of food<\/strong> served at an &#8216;<strong>all you can get<\/strong>&#8216; food<\/span> shop in a <strong>food hall<\/strong> and a &#8216;<strong>set meal<\/strong>&#8216; <strong>Restaurant<\/strong>. If you want <strong>cheap and average<\/strong> (Like I often do with my food) &#8211; <strong>This is for you<\/strong>. Do you really want this for your memories of an important\u00a0event? We, like you, would think not.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #339966;\">The photographer is also <strong>unlikely to release images<\/strong> that he \/ she thinks are not of sufficient quality<\/span> &#8211; even after editing. <strong>So are you really getting what you paid for<\/strong> &#8211; all you can eat? Sadly not, may be only what he \/ she decides to release to you &#8211; after deleting what ever they want &#8211; <strong>So are you really getting all your images? Doesn&#8217;t sound like it does it?<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #339966;\"><strong>Would you<\/strong> or your guest&#8217;s really want to sit there and go through <strong>more than<\/strong> 50 to 200 images<\/span> &#8211;<strong> Imagine yourself being asked to sit there and view image after image<\/strong> \u00a0&#8211; <strong>online or in an album<\/strong> &#8211;<strong>torturous isn&#8217;t it<\/strong>?<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #339966;\"><strong>After a while<\/strong> you have just had enough and <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #339966;\">switch off and say &#8220;Saw them<\/span> <span style=\"color: #339966;\">all<\/span> online darling they were fabulous&#8221; meaning &#8211; saw about 50 and got the idea, closed the album<\/strong>!! We find that <strong>between 20 to 200 images<\/strong> is about the <strong>right amount<\/strong>. So choose a package that&#8217;s right for you.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #339966;\"><strong>What do you want to do with images?<\/strong> Blow them up?<\/span> Print them on Steel, Glass, Canvass or simply Photographic Paper? Unsure? <strong>Want the flexibility to decide later?<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #339966;\">T<\/span><span style=\"color: #339966;\">hen <strong>make sure you get technical information from the photographer<\/strong> as to the <strong>technical specifications<\/strong> of <strong>EACH and EVERY image<\/strong> you will receive<\/span> (<strong>Pixel Height, Pixel Width and PPI<\/strong> &#8211; prior to be being digitally enlarged)<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #339966;\"><strong>Why?<\/strong> Because otherwise, in almost all instances we have seen, the edited images you receive will be <strong>USELESS<\/strong> to you to do with other than to probably print to approximately A4 at most<\/span> and some times may be not even that! Some times, mostly as a result of using non-professional or non-fullframe camera&#8217;s, the images even unedited are unsuitable to print to more than A4 to the Pixel Width &amp; Height combined with the PPI (Pixels Per Inch).<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #339966;\"><strong>Digital enlargement, is often a waste of time<\/strong>. A poor quality image enlarged is still a poor quality image!<\/span> Unless it is then significantly edited and manipulated etc &#8211; So why start with some one that cannot produce a high quality image to start with?<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #339966;\"><strong>Use of terms <\/strong>such as<strong> High Definition<\/strong> and<strong> High Resolution are used at lot and this is\u00a0<\/strong>some times<strong> designed to keep you in the dark<\/strong><\/span> as to what you are actually getting.
