When you\u00a0hang up a sign (On Facebook, Web Sites or where ever) as a ABC Photographer \/ Photography<\/strong>,\u00a0Driving Instructor<\/strong>,\u00a0Commercial Pilot<\/strong>,\u00a0Diving Instructior<\/strong>\u00a0etc\u00a0You are claiming to be a professional in that area<\/strong>\u00a0– People have a\u00a0justfied expectation<\/strong>\u00a0of you to\u00a0turn up with Professional Grade Tools \/ Equipment to do a Professional Grade Job<\/strong>\u00a0– This is the\u00a0minimum<\/strong>\u00a0–\u00a0you – the client\u00a0should expect\u00a0from the (<\/strong>claiming to be<\/em>) Professional you engage!<\/strong><\/p>\n

1.\u00a0How many (Manufacturer Recognised) Professional \/ Advanced Grade Camera’s<\/strong>\u00a0will they be bringing to the shoot?<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0Is EVERY Camera Body you will be bringing<\/strong>\u00a0to and using at the shoot recognised by the Camera Manufacturer as a Professional Grade \/ Advanced Camera? If not why not?<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0Is EVERY Camera Lens you will be bringing<\/strong>\u00a0to & using at the shoot recognised by the Lens Manufacturer as a Professional Grade Lens? If not why not?<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0Do ALL of the these Professional Camera Bodies and Professional Grade Lenses belong to you or your company<\/strong>\u00a0(not hired, borrowed, leased etc from some one else)? If not why not?<\/p>\n

5.\u00a0Is every (SLR) camera\u00a0<\/strong>you will be using a Full Frame Camera? If not why not?<\/p>\n

6.\u00a0Will every shot be taken at the biggest size and highest quality<\/strong>\u00a0your camera is capable of? If not why not?<\/p>\n

7. What is the\u00a0largest size in Horizontal and Vertical Pixel count<\/strong>\u00a0that your camera is capable of taking images at?<\/p>\n

8. Don’t be<\/strong> fooled by terms like High Definition \/ High Resolution<\/strong> – ASK<\/strong> –\u00a0Will all of the digital images delivered be of at least 300 PPI<\/strong>\u00a0– so as to be printable at a reasonable Size? If not why not?<\/p>\n

9.\u00a0Don’t be<\/strong>\u00a0fooled by terms like High Definition \/ High Resolution<\/strong>\u00a0–\u00a0ASK<\/strong>\u00a0–\u00a0Will all of the digital images be of at least 5616 by 3744 pixels<\/strong>\u00a0(without being enalrged post photography) in size? If not why not?<\/p>\n

10.\u00a0Will any “edited” \/ “retouched” images be printable at their full uncropped size without distortion or\u00a0<\/strong>loss of quality as a result of the editing<\/strong>\u00a0AND also will they be taken at the biggest size your Camera is capable of?\u00a0If not why not? This is to avoid images being taken at a smaller \/ smallest size – to enable ‘less’ editing as it could be a much smaller image.<\/p>\n

11.\u00a0How many of your images will actually be supplied in digital format in color?<\/strong>\u00a0Why not all of them in colour – allowing us to change to BW or Sepia as we choose?<\/p>\n

12.\u00a0Can we view the 100% unedited \/ 100% uncropped images and choose what images to have edited\u00a0<\/strong>and leave the others unedited? If not why not<\/p>\n

13.\u00a0Can you show us examples of your work (across atleast 50 multiple events \/ shoots that are indoors or out doors and similar in a location and lighting to what we will require of you to do) that are a 100 % unedited and a 100% uncropped<\/strong>\u00a0– according to the definition of editing here – http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Image_editing<\/a><\/strong>? If not why not?\u00a0Because we want to see your skills as a Photographer – skilled to take good photographs to start with – not your skills as a digital artist.<\/p>\n

14.\u00a0Can you please\u00a0AVOID\u00a0the Cliche Boring and Disgusting \u00a0Ballon, Giant Lollipop, Laundromat and similar concepts<\/strong>? If not why not?<\/p>\n

15.\u00a0Can we choose where to have shoot taken<\/strong>? If not why not?<\/p>\n

16.\u00a0Do you providing editing \/ retouching services<\/strong>? If not why not?<\/p>\n

17.\u00a0Is your Studio owned by yourself or your company<\/strong>\u00a0(not hired \/ borrowed \/ leased \/ rented)? If not why not?<\/p>\n

18.\u00a0Is your Studio dedicated (99.999% of the time) studio space and not used for any thing else<\/strong>\u00a0for more than 0.001% of the time? If not why not?<\/p>\n

19.\u00a0Do you or your company own all (100%) of the lights and (100%) of the equipment<\/strong>\u00a0in the studio you are using? If not why not?<\/p>\n

20. Is your\u00a0Trading Name<\/strong>\u00a0a\u00a0registered Business Name<\/strong>? If not why not?<\/p>\n

21. Do you have a\u00a0exclusive and dedicated Business Banking Account<\/strong>? If not why not?<\/p>\n

22. What is your\u00a0Business Banking Account Name<\/strong>,\u00a0BSB<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Account Number<\/strong>?<\/p>\n

23. All you can eat – all the photo’s on CD \/ DVD (can often provide with a pile of worthless images – combined with\u00a0lack of specifics<\/strong>\u00a0about Resolution (PPI – Pixels Per Inch) or Size (pixels hight and across) and with\u00a0loose use of terms such as High Resolution<\/strong>\u00a0& High Definition<\/strong> and the like\u00a0can be very deceptive<\/strong>\u00a0– Get the technical specifications<\/strong> of what will be delivered before you engage your photographer! e.g. How many Pixels in Width and Height, How many Pixels per Inch (PPI) etc – See Point 30) also.<\/strong><\/p>\n

24. Are they using LEXAR Professional UDMA (6 or 7 minimum)<\/strong> or SanDisk ExtremePro (6 or 7 minimum)<\/strong>\u00a0Memory Cards – arguably the fastest and most reliable in the game<\/strong>? After all what is the use of paying your photographer and then discovering your valuable images have been lost or corrupted, as a result of the use of a cheap card!<\/p>\n
