{"id":1609,"date":"2013-03-20T18:22:28","date_gmt":"2013-03-20T10:22:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.theshedstudios.com.au\/wp01\/?page_id=1609"},"modified":"2013-12-18T16:17:44","modified_gmt":"2013-12-18T08:17:44","slug":"watermarking-of-ourimages","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/www.theshedstudios.com.au\/wp01\/photography-videography\/faq-frequently-asked-questions\/watermarking-of-ourimages\/","title":{"rendered":"Watermarking of our Images"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>This will take you back to the\u00a0<a title=\"Main Photography Page\" href=\"http:\/\/www.theshedstudios.com.au\/wp01\/photography\/\" target=\"_blank\">Photography Main Page<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Un-purchased images will be watermarked<\/strong> as we see fit.<\/li>\n<li>We shoot about <strong>50,000 to 150,000<\/strong> frames a year.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><strong>We cannot justify the time to individually watermark images<\/strong><\/span> &#8211; prior to release &#8211; unless \u00a0purchased.<\/li>\n<li>We have <span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><strong>tried to make the watermark as unobtrusive<\/strong><\/span> as possible and <strong>yet suitable for all sorts of brightness and colours<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>We have <span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><strong>developed a horizontal and vertical template<\/strong><\/span> that we try and apply to our images comprising of Black and White text and Symbols that have a fair bit of Opacity so they<strong> no matter the Colours in the image &#8211; some parts of our watermark will at least show.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>This is the<strong><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"> only practical way of watermarking and releasing hundreds to thousands of images from a shoot<\/span>. <\/strong>In some large events <strong>we have shot upwards of 3,000 frames and up to about 10,000 frames in a night \/ day \/ across an event.<\/strong> <strong>So there is no other practical way of watermarking, other than the way we currently do it.\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>We hope you <span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><strong>understand and respect the fact that this is our intellectual property<\/strong><\/span> that we are show casing for your enjoyment. <strong>No matter what is said or done at the end of the day, if they can get it for free they will &#8211; so we watermark &#8211; <\/strong>to minimise theft and to identify our work.<\/li>\n<li>We place images on <span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><strong>mediums like Facebook and pInterest to encourage people to Tag and Share our work<\/strong><\/span> &#8211; as it is presented, unaltered and with the Photographer and Copyright recognised.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><strong>Boutiques electronically tag an item of clothing so if it is removed incorrectly &#8211;<\/strong><span style=\"color: #c0c0c0;\"> it will ruin the item of clothing so that it is almost unusable &#8211; this very similar to watermarking<\/span><\/span> &#8211; except that Watermarks are much easier to remove &#8211; especially with recent development in software.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Images of no\/little value, similar to clothing of little\/no value, often will not be protected in this manner.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #339966;\">Thank you for reading and your understanding.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This will take you back to the\u00a0Photography Main Page Un-purchased images will be watermarked as we see fit.
